Confirm the platform accepts MQTT, HTTP/REST, Modbus, and ONVIF. A platform that only accepts its own hardware holds you hostage when prices rise.
Operations staff should be able to arrange widgets without waiting on the vendor. Otherwise every small change becomes a billable project.
Trend analysis and year-on-year comparison are impossible if old data is purged. Ask how long raw data is kept, not just aggregates.
