Three paths, three different situations
Not about which is most advanced, but which fits your site.
Existing equipment already on site
Industrial meters, PLCs, and inverters usually already speak Modbus. The gateway reads them over RS-485 and forwards to the platform. No need to replace equipment that still works.
Sites with no internal network
Rest areas, substations, remote posts, or farmland with no office Wi-Fi. As long as there is cellular coverage, data keeps flowing.
Long range, low power
Sensors spread across a wide area β ponds, plantations, factory grounds β sending little data but needing long reach and low power.
My devices are not made by INCLUDE. Can they connect?
Yes. If it speaks Modbus RTU, the gateway reads it directly. If it can send HTTP or MQTT, it can reach the platform without a gateway at all.
If the internet drops, is data lost?
The gateway sits between devices and the platform. For buffering and disconnect scenarios, talk to our team about your specific site conditions.
Do I have to use a gateway?
No. Devices that can reach the internet themselves (an ESP32 on Wi-Fi, for example) may send directly over HTTP or MQTT.
Tell us about your site.
Signal, distance, and the equipment already installed decide which path makes sense.
